A Special Time in History

A special time in history.
It struck me Friday that regardless of the victor in the upcoming presidential election, this will be an historic occasion. Either we will have the first African-American president or we will have the first woman vice-president.
Considering I don't care for either presidential candidate, I was suddenly struck with hope. Perhaps we are finally growing up so that an African-American or a woman can be a president or African-American. That's one of the few encouraging things I find in the current election news.
Lord knows we need all the encouragement we can get these days...
